Translations for the Spanish digital nomad visa
The visa for international remote work lets you live in Spain while working for companies or clients outside Spain. Your degree, contracts, company documents and criminal record usually need a sworn translation.
Documents that usually need translating
- University degree, or proof of at least three years of relevant professional experience.
- Employment contract or service agreements, and a letter from the employer authorising remote work.
- Company documents showing that it has been operating for at least a year.
- Criminal record certificates from the countries you have lived in during recent years, apostilled.
- Marriage and birth certificates for family members.
Income and conditions
You must show income of at least twice the Spanish minimum wage, plus more for each family member, and work from Spain for companies or clients mainly based outside Spain. You can apply at a Spanish consulate or, if you are already legally in Spain, directly in Spain.
Save on translations
Contracts and company documents can be long. Ask whether a summary certificate signed by the company is enough before translating dozens of pages, and send everything in one order: the minimum applies per order and language, not per document.
How much does it cost?
Price per language for a one-page document (for example, a certificate with its apostille), translated into or from Spanish, VAT not included:
| Language | One page, from | Per word |
|---|---|---|
| English | €25 | €0.10 |
| French | €25 | €0.10 |
| German | €60 | €0.10 |
| Italian | €70 | €0.10 |
| Portuguese | €70 | €0.10 |
| Romanian | €60 | €0.13 |
| Arabic | €60 | €0.13 |
| Russian | €90 | €0.13 |
Longer documents are priced per word: €0.10 for the most common languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese), €0.13 for most others (Romanian, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Polish…) and €0.18 for languages with few sworn translators, always subject to the minimum shown in the table. For example, a 750-word document from English into Spanish costs €75 + VAT.
